Alone.

Among so many people

there is no-one to share my self with.

John saw this in the life of the sage he followed.  "Many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name.  But he would not entrust himself to them, for he all people.  He did not need human testimony about people, for he knew what was in them."

Nothing has changed, and sometimes we get caught out because we want so much to have companionship and admiration.  Finding the few who can be there with us can be painful.
