Who are we?

genuine satisfaction

It's impossible to talk about spiritual life without metaphors.  It's even difficult to think about it without some physical picture which captures the experience.
One day John's mentor was talking to someone in a dry dusty area, a thirsty place, but right at a well.  He said, "Anyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink the water I giver them will never thirst.  In fact, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to genuine life."
Even out on a city shopping expedition we can come to that moment of desperation for a coffee shop!  So we can identify with the experience of thirst, of longing, of desperation.  What would it be like to have a spring of spiritual life welling up inside one, right here in the urban spiritual desert?
