honesty is practical

Some people think that God is irrelevant (if he exists).  But the collection of wise sayings we are dipping into shows an intensely practical daily life orientation ...

"The Lord detests dishonest scales,

but accurate weights find favour with him."

That is a challenge when I am tempted to put a finger on the scales of life and get more than I am due, or give less than I owe.  God cares about it.  I wonder why he cares when it doesn't affect him?  Could it be that he cares about people, about community functioning well?
